Rest the bowl on the included cushion or your open palm.

For the fullest sound, use the ring cushion on a flat surface. If holding, keep your fingers flat and open — avoid wrapping them around the bowl as this dampens vibration.

Strike the Bowl

Gently tap the outer rim with the padded side of the mallet.

Hit the upper third of the outer wall at a slight angle. Use a relaxed wrist — it's more of a flick than a hit. The bowl should ring with a clear, sustained tone.

Rim Singing

Run the mallet slowly around the outer rim with steady pressure.

After striking once, press the wooden end of the mallet against the outside rim and draw slow, even circles. Keep consistent speed and pressure — the bowl will build into a continuous singing tone.
